Motion Detectors
CRPI uses multiple PIR (Passive Infrared) motion detectors during investigations.
These detect motion through the thermal IR (heat) signature
of whatever moves in front of its detectors.
Spirit energies, while usually associated with cool or cold air manifestations,
also can sometimes give off a warmer thermal signature.
Living beings also give off heat, so these are always placed at least 3-feet above the ground
(to eliminiate mice, rats etc. as the source).
We also try to keep these placed in view of our night-vision cameras,
or at least keep careful track of the locations of investigators at all times.
360 Degree Motion Detector
Four PIR (Passive Infrared) motion detectors provide 360-degree motion coverage.
Each sensor will detect motion out to 20 feet away, and each
sensor connects to a corresponding LED light on top of the unit.
A tone sounds and LED's light up to indicate direction of the movement.
Mini-Alert Motion Detector
This smaller motion detector is very sensitve,
with a wide angle of detection in addition to distance.
Driveway Patrol Motion Detector w/400 ft alarm range
Functions like the one shown above, but also will send a motion alarm
to a receiver we carry with us up to 400 feet away from the detection area.
This allows us to continue investigating other areas of a location
and still be able to monitor the detector left in another room.
